How to Onboard with Your Virtual House Manager
Okay, but how do I even get started?
So you're coming to us because you feel overwhelmed, your to-do list is never-ending, and you don't even have the time to tell someone how to help you. So how the heck are you supposed to onboard with a virtual house manager to lighten your load?
Luckily, we are seasoned pros at relieving busy parents' mental load, and we've built systems over the past three years that are proven to get you momentum and value from day one. In fact, one of the most common things we hear from clients at the end of onboarding is, "I feel so relieved already!"
Step 1: Introduction Call
In this first call, before you even sign with us, you can share what's on your mental plate and what's in the dark cloud of a to-do list swirling around in your head at 2 a.m. Together, we'll build a list of priority projects and stressors so we can tackle them in order of priority, impact, and deadline.
Step 2: Fill Out Your Intake Form
Disclaimer: this is totally optional, and we can cover everything verbally if it feels overwhelming!
This short, three-question intake form is designed to give us some basic information about your family—names, birthdays, home address, communication preferences, and more.
Step 3: Meet with Your House Manager
Your house manager comes prepared with your priority projects already built out into project plans in our shared digital project management tool, so you can hit the ground running and feel value from the very first meeting.
She'll walk you through your priorities, identify where you'd like to start, and gather the critical information she needs to make progress independently.
Ongoing Support
You'll meet with your house manager every week for 30 minutes to review progress on your projects, discuss upcoming deadlines, make decisions, review proposals, provide approvals, or simply brain-dump anything you're stressed about, anticipating, concerned about, or just need an extra hand with.
Even if it's a project you don't think we can help with, there's almost always a way we can support you and lighten your load.
For example, if you spent your weekend folding laundry instead of resting or enjoying time with your kids, we might propose a variety of solutions, including:
Hiring a laundry service
Hiring someone local to wash, fold, and even put away your laundry
Setting up a chore chart to get your partner and kids more involved in laundry—and other household responsibilities, too
Our goal isn't just to help you get things done. It's to help you get your time and energy back so you can live your best life.
