Thank you for having me, Hannah! I’m so excited to be here. I’m a mom of three and the founder of a new app called ThreadCount. I created it after realizing there was no real system to help parents manage the constant clothing chaos. My goal was to build something that saves time, money, and — most importantly — lightens the mental load we carry as moms.[01:40] Hannah Morgan:
I love that. And I’m so excited for listeners to hear about the systems you’ve developed and the app you’re creating. Let’s dive into how this started.[01:48] Stacey Blea:
Sure! Like so many moms, I hit my breaking point after my third child. Between three wardrobes, seasonal changes, and constant growth spurts, I just couldn’t keep track anymore. I’d go digging through bins, forgetting what sizes we had, and realizing later I’d double-bought things.[02:12] Stacey Blea:
At first, I tried keeping lists in my phone notes. Then I made an Excel spreadsheet — but it still wasn’t working. I couldn’t remember what was in storage versus what was in drawers, and the spreadsheet definitely wasn’t portable. I thought, there has to be a better way to do this.[02:35] Hannah Morgan:
That’s such a relatable moment. I think every parent has had that chaotic “change of season” weekend where you’re buried in clothes and wondering where to start.[02:45] Stacey Blea:
Exactly! You spend hours switching wardrobes, and you still end up realizing later you’re missing something — or worse, you buy a second pair of boots because you couldn’t find the first ones. It’s wasted time, energy, and money.[03:00] Stacey Blea:
If you think about it like inventory management — which is my business background — no company would expect someone to manage hundreds of items across multiple “locations” (aka your kids!) just from memory. Yet that’s what parents are doing every day.[03:22] Hannah Morgan:

There are four main sections in the app. The first is the Wishlist, where you can jot down items your kids will need soon — like new rain boots or socks — so when you’re out shopping, you can check it in seconds.Then there’s the Wardrobe section, which gives you visibility into what your kids are currently wearing. You can even tag outfits for specific events — like vacations, holidays, or photo shoots — so planning is simple.

Next is Storage, which tracks everything that’s packed away and where it lives — down to the bin color or storage spot. And finally, there’s Community, where you can easily sell, donate, or share items within your local area. It’s all about closing the loop — from what comes in, to what gets passed on.[04:25] Hannah Morgan:
I love that you’ve built community into it. So much of parenting is sharing and reusing, but without a system, it can feel overwhelming.[04:33] Stacey Blea:
Yes! I’ve received so many bags of hand-me-downs over the years — which I love — but I wanted a way to give back in an organized way. With ThreadCount, once you enter an item into your system, it stays there until you decide to sell or donate. You don’t have to re-upload photos or details later.
